What to do, and in which order
Six steps from your first chord to your first songs, with a diagram for every chord in the lesson.
You've seen the roadmap in the video. Here it is written down: the chords in the order I recommend, the strumming patterns, and the habits to get right from day one.
What's inside
Six things you'll learn
1
Your first chords
The names of the open strings, two-finger shapes first, then all the open chords.
2
Timing and rhythm
The 8th-note strum, then the classic D D U U D U.
3
Your first songs
Why you shouldn't wait, and why they don't have to be perfect.
4
Chord changes
Keep the common finger down: G to D with the ring finger as your anchor.
5
The other basics
Tap your foot, a clip tuner, a capo, a metronome.
6
Melodies and technique
Strum from your wrist, then drop the pick.
Why it works
What the video shows, explained on paper
1
Every chord with its fingering
11 chord diagrams, with the finger numbers you need.
2
The strumming patterns, drawn out
Every down and up, with the count.
3
The order to learn it in
Six steps, so you always know what comes next.
All of it ready to print and keep on the music stand.
Who it's for
